In theory this is slightly better but I could see data centers just running generators. With so much venture capital they could throw up a coal plant. I can't see much spare during peek hours as the power would be ramped up to meet the demand why would they just generate extra.
... You do understand that it is a hugely stupid idea? Data centers use gas generators for electricity and are giving a huge boost to climate change as they dump huge amounts of co2 into the atmosphere so that people can undress little girls or cheat on their exams
