I fumbled my way in to functionality by tricking myself in to doing things.
"Ok. We don't have to do ALL the dishes. But maybe empty the top rack of the dishwasher before you go and do the fun thing?"
15 minutes later the kitchen is spotless and I feel better about myself. It always shocks me how little effort it takes to do the functional thing. Literally every time.
This is me unless I take some time on the day before doing a rough plan or preparing for a specific task I want to start the day with. Just to give myself a sense of direction after I wake up.

I really should get a proper diagnosis. This is so me coded.
I was diagnosed in my 30s and it changed my life... not easy to get diagnosed though!

It's a valid tactic. Tell yourself you only have to do it for 5 minutes, then after 5 minutes you usually just keep going.
Or it doesn't even take a whole 5 minutes
