Small plug in the spirit of the thread:

I run ![email protected] (lemmy.world/c/CommunityOfTheDay) — a little bot that picks one community per day, with live subscriber counts and the month's most active discussion as a sample.

It takes suggestions too: DM the bot with !community@instance if you know an active corner of the threadiverse that deserves a day. Suggestions jump the queue.

More Gemini/Fedi stuff: Someone is building a Lemmy frontend that can be accessed from Gemini protocol. Looks like it will be read-only, but this fits my recently rekindled fascination with Geminispace.

Imo it's better than Lemmyverse because I need to do just one search, instead of one per software in the same conditions.

Also on Fennec it doesn't seem very responsive in the UI for confirming searches, but adding ?q= to the end of the link then what's to be searched, and loading the resulting link, seems to circumvent well enough the issue. Like with https://catalog.catodon.rocks/?q=horse for finding horse-related communities.
