My wife and I moved towards loose leaf tea a few years ago I am not going back to bags or flavored brands. Its cheaper and amazing. That being said I do have a few blends that I typically drink in the winter:
I highly recommend trying custom tea blends if you can find bulk tea.
Wouldnt mind hearing more about lemony, dya mind sharing the brand?
No brand. I just mix a 1:1:1 mixture of Lemongrass, Lemon Verbena and Lemon Balm. Its amazing. I have seen some lemon teas brands that do the similar thing
Where do you obtain all those constituent parts, do you grow all that stuff or where do you gather them all?
For this blend I do grow them all. There's a local food co-op that sells bulk teas but I do know some high end groceries stores sell them. I also purchase some hard to find herbs from Mountain Rose Herbs but that's really not cost effective unless it's a large amount. Just note that a few ounces is a huge quantity

I’m not a fancy tea drinker; when we get into winter months I’ll typically drink Twining’s Irish Breakfast tea with sugar and half-and-half or cream, whichever we have. It’s pretty readily available for me and I feel like the flavor is more robust than English Breakfast.

The season has no bearing on the type for me, just the temperature. In the rare event I'm drinking tea, it's green tea; hot when I'm cold and cold when I'm hot. Nothing added, just as-is.
What brand or where do source it?
Whatever my supermarket has (I live in rural Japan), or maybe whatever is cheap at the konbini if I'm on the go.
Are there any tv shows youve seen set in such a locale that authentically represents your life there?
Not really, especially where it intersects with being a non-Japanese.
