All Trump did was expose the fact that it always was open for someone with a criminal background to hold office. They didn't change the qualifications for him. There never was a rule against people with criminal records holding office. It was just considered common sense that people wouldn't elect someone with serious crimes on their record, but it turns out that was wrong. There is indeed nothing to stop other felons, rapists, and traitors from getting elected

They were asked "If Trump shot an unarmed man dead in the street, would you still support him?". One of the women responded "What did the guy do to get shot?" and everyone else nodded in agreement.
