Time to place and bait Basket Traps. You'll need 16 cattails, a stick, and either a turnip, a parsnip, or a carrot. With 4 hares, you should have a decent chance of trapping a breeding pair.
(This is Vintage Story help, don't feed real buns carrots or parsnips.)
How's that proverb go? It's better to have four buns in the yard than one bun in the oven? Or is it the other way around?
