Restaurant Review: Viva! Be Bowl'd
Today we found ourselves hungry in Fresno around 3 p.m. TLDR: we got really lucky in choosing this place, and the food pictures are at the bottom.
Upon entering the establishment, we were greeted by a most welcoming dining room, set up spaciously. And right after being greeted by that dining room, we were greeted by one of the staff.
Next, you are greeted by the large hanging menus. Nicely done on the menus. I like the design..
There's also specialty menus.
And there was a Thursday special. Dang it, it's Monday. Otherwise we would have ordered the al pastor and some more.
But giganto menus aren't our thing. So we grabbed a couple of handhelds and headed to a table.
This wasn't going to be easy. Honestly, everything on the menu looks like I'm sorry I didn't eat it today. And I'm still full from lunch..
So back to the part where I'm almost going to talk about the food that we ordered. But first I have to show you what they use to make the food that you're going to eat here.
Where I come from, they used to call these things prep tables. This prep table was loaded with the freshest and also most good-looking food I may have ever seen in a prep table. It got very busy after we received our food, which was lucky for us. In two ways. We got in, sat down, and got to eat. But even better, we got to see the care they used when they stocked that prep table. Afterwards, I had no more questions on why the prep table looked as good as it did.
We didn't ask, but this looked to be the hot side dish prep table. And same goes here. Everything looked completely fresh and amazing.
After you place your order just to the left of that really long prep table, you're provided the cups for your beverages and you get to walk to the coolest soda machine dispenser I've ever seen.
They also have bottled sodas in a refrigerator placed in a very attractive setting.
Now, before we get to the food, here's a little teaser. They have metal forks. This, along with the greeting and the hospitality we received, this place earned the infamous sixth star today. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Finally, to the food. I had the MEXCELLENT: White rice, black beans, grilled chicken, charred corn, cilantro, avocado mash, pico de gallo, creamy cilantro dressing & tortilla twists. ( without the cilantro dressing and tortilla twists. If you're looking to do the ultra healthy thing, these are the two items to have them put on the side.)
I need to mention as well that I'm a health nut. I ask for dressing on the side of all my salads and then I try to eat them without the dressing. If I can, it means I got an amazing salad. And if I can't, then I only have to use a bit of the dressing instead of the usual portion provided.
This salad needed no dressing.
My wife ordered chicken strips and fries, and neither one disappointed. I didn't grab any of the chicken from her because I had my own. But let it be known. I love fries so much. Sometimes I'm tempted to ask a stranger if I can have one. I don't. But the temptation is still there.
I know from the pictures the restaurant looks unoccupied, but I hide some pretty mad photographing skills and also my luck with timing is endless. This place is very busy and the staff there handle it amazingly efficiently.
By now, I'm sure you're wondering the type of people who staff such an amazing establishment and I would love to say that the only thing better than their food is the service, but the food was actually that good. But that does not do justice to the service we received. And if you read other reviews about this establishment, you'll hear people telling you that they were treated like family while they were there. So were we.
I don't know what else to say about this place except, any time we're in Fresno, this will absolutely be a favorite.

Going to have to check this out the next time I’m in town, thanks for the review!
You're going to love the experience.
Fair warning; they can get very busy and we saw it happen.
