Just finished it with the family, it was my wife's first true watch and she loved it!

I have a ttrpg follow up kicking around in the back of my head that's inspired by a number of spooky folk songs but I doubt I'll have time to run it.

I saw the first episode last year. I haven't seen the rest yet. I'M GONNA MAKE THIS YEAR THE YEAR.

That song lives rent free on my mind

I had a really interesting experience with this series. I had never seen it before, but the opening song came up on my discover weekly playlist. I liked it enough that I got really stoned, put on my eye mask, laid on my bed and listened to the whole soundtrack through on my headphones. It was awesome, Ms. Langtree's Lament was my favorite because of how curvy the singing is. I remember being perplexed when a kid started singing about potatoes and molasses right after that, not knowing I was listening to a cartoon soundtrack.

I've watched most of the show since, and it's fun!

Let me get this straight, you come to our town, you trample our crops, you interrupt our private engagement, now you want to leave???

Boys, it saddens me that I must punish you for your transgressions.

So by the order of the Pottsville Chamber of Commerce, I find you GUILTY of:

Tresspassing, destruction of property, disturbing the peace, and Murrrrrdurrrrrr! (Oh, no, not murder)!

But for those other crimes, I sentence you to: a few hours of manual labor.

Ah, what a wonderful harvest!

It's one of my favorite pieces of animation ever produced.

It's perfect from beginning to end. Nothing could be added or removed to make it better.

Just started a rewatch last night! Two episodes in, so I just saw this guy. Damn, it's so good, I forgot how silly things are!

Saw our boy Enoch here and watched it through the first weekend of October

I’ve got an 11 year old and a 9 year old, and some parts look a bit scary.

9 and 11 would be perfect for it. The "horror" of it is about that level. Nothing too serious or adult.

Lol yes, these are shots from Over the Garden Wall, but the tone is absolutely not like that. It's more of a cute/sweet/silly show. It deals with some slightly heavy topics, but definitely at a kid's level and things always resolve quickly. I'm sure both you and the kids will love it.

For reference, I'd say the official trailer is far more representative of the tone. https://youtu.be/watch?v=36mAsVSH_-s

It does a great job at portraying things as classically scary before subverting expectations by disarming them as humorous misunderstandings.

Literally just finished my first full watch-through hours ago. It was delightful!
