That's what popped into my head too lol. 100% a Doughnut personality (and even a close-ish breed)
They don't sit on the laptop for attention, they sit on it because it is made of warm. Get your cat a heating pad and they'll no longer feel the need to lay on the laptop. (Preferably one with a long timer so you don't have to keep getting up every couple of hours to turn it back on.)
