Took my second JLPT mock exam yesterday. 10 point improvement from the first one. Comfortable margins above the minimums in all three sections, which is huge.

It's kinda wild that I still need to improve my reading/answering speed by 30 minutes or so to not run out of time but I'm still somehow well into passing territory. I guess that's just how it works when 90/180 is a passing score, lol. Also speaks to my strength in reading comp--it's by far my strongest section...other than the speed issue. Test-taking strategy alone is doing a lot for me. I know exactly what passages to skip and return to if I have time.

Going to do three more full weeks of reading practice and then a gradual taper before exam day. It's kinda crazy to think about actually having time to do things 😅 Between studying for the JLPT and job search, I've put in an insane amount of hours for more than half a year now.

Committed to the grind. Doing 30 mins minimum for JP and SP. Quite a lot of days have about 50-60+ mins for JP. Still not touching my Irish yet, still want to take it slow for now. Doing maths, but also using Duolingo for some basic maths as well (I was an early school drop out so the more the merrier). Also finally got my first edition copy of the Complete Lojban Language, or also known as The Big Red Book or just CLL to Lojbanists. Thinking when things start moving more again, I'd jump into Irish first however. As I live in Ireland, best excuse to learn Irish is because it's one of the best places to pick it up in the world, I should use that strength to my advantage when I can. Also picking up programming and trying to build a portfolio for better employment opportunities. Basically a lot on my plate, and a lot more to chew off, but I figure I'll get there in due time, and I don't need to zerg for any real reason.

Really just enjoying going through the motions now, I'm motivated and happy spending my free time studying languages. Realise I need to do way more immersion, so I should also aim to doing an hour of immersion a day for JP and SP each before moving into Irish/jbo. I don't know, I'm getting excited here just thinking about all the cool things you can learn in these languages. Super hyped.
