MaryDeath - Another Horseman [comic, fan edit]
MaryDeath is a comic about life, death, and everything in between. The story follows a young girl named Mary who happens to have befriended Death. Why Death has chosen to take interest in Mary remains a mystery, but despite his ever dark presence Mary finds comfort in his companionship.

MaryDeath Comics was created in the 2010s by Gwen Tarpley, though Cats Cafe Comic is her main effort now. The artist transitioned recently, and when I contacted her to ask about doing the Fan Edits, she encouraged me to remove her deadname from the strips. The main reason I wanted to do the edits is bc in a couple earlier strips Mary has a goth look but eventually she gave it up after a couple episodes. But I wanted a strip in which she retained her goth look. Finally, I wanted the three-strip stories to have a vertical orientation better suited to cell-phones.

I don't get it...
"From my riding club" means they're another of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, which are Death, War, Famine, and either Plague, Pestilence, or Conquest (depending on the version). The friend Death was talking about must have been famine. Or maybe plague, it's a bit ambiguous.
Well, according to Good Omens by Terry Pratchett, Pollution replaced Pestilence (who retired in 1936 after the discovery of penicillin).
😉
I see. The ambigiousness is the issue here. I was thinking what kind of entity would spoiul food just by existing near it. I might have got it if there was like a guy in the background rhat suddenly got the plague or something.
Yeah what @[email protected] said, you're right it is still a bit ambiguous at this point.

Yeah I am familiar with the 4 horsemen the comic was just a bit too vague in that regard to ring that bell.
Its plague. Famine means no new food
Well if you want to get particular about it, plague means sick people or animals and none of them mean rotting food.
