Seriously… Fox cancelled a ton of potentially great shows before they had a chance.

Didn't help that they felt the need to scramble the episodes, which made the character development very confusing

3

oh yea, fox had great marvel spinoffs before disney bought out fox entertainment, which is way better than the slop right now.

2

Fox has a long history of killing off good sci-fi shows. Though I hope that's over now that they're Disney.

2

Damn straight it does. That show had some serious potential.

Around the same time Galavant rose and fell (ABC).

This is how I find out Xena was pseudohistorical? I thought it was just pure fantasy.

Spinoff from a Greek mythology based show. Some myths have real people. Also they kind of had to reach for new characters at that point.

3

I thought that whole episode with caesar was fictional. But no. He really got kidnapped, really told his kidnappers to ask for more money, and told him he was going to crucify them.

2

It’s sci-fi when Karl Urban has short hair, and fantasy when Karl Urban has long hair.

Apparently I'm a huge fan. had no idea he was in anything but I have seen and love all these characters

I only picture him from the boys

No way. I've seen every episode, must have seen him. Also Kevin Sorbo is a flaming pile of dogshit.

True, even though that's Tony Todd.

I could have used a few more judge dredd movies.

Urban was pretty much perfect as Dredd and Olivia Thirlby was damn good as rookie Anderson. The film itself was pretty solid and did good with the budget they had.

They could and should still do a sequel with the same actors. Aging would not be an issue with the characters.

21

Yes, that role was made for Urban, not Stallone. He played it all with the helmet on while portraying every emotion, every thought, every Dreddism clearly written on half of a face. I enjoy his work so very much.

2

Huh. I actually preferred Stallone’s somewhat more snarky Dredd, downside was that he played exactly the same character in Demolition Man.

1

Over qualified for his job, no wonder he's employed by the flagship of the fleet.

Wait...

What is a necromonger??

Edit: monger is one who spreads. So... One who... Kills and/or promotes killing?

I wanna be an orgasmmonger.

Hi hello! Hi, I'd like to buy three deaths and an ounce of chocolate flavored necrosis, please! Can I get that to go?

2

"Cake or death!" "Uh, death please?" "Well, we're out of death! We only had three bits and we didn't expect such a rush."

4
lemmy.dbzer0.com

Sorry, we only serve death onsite. For tax and liability reasons.

We can give you a to-go cup of chocolate necrosis no problem, though

3

Oh noooo, I didn't finish my delicious death. I'll need a box. My chocolate necrosis though, that's not for me, though, it's for a friend. Ffffffrieennnnnd

3

Holy crap I haven't seen that movie in FOREVER. (And I was wondering what movie that was from! Ty!)

2

I feel the exact opposite: having first discovered him in The Boys, it's really weird to see him all clean shaven 😄

4

This, from henceforth, shall forever be the name of the film in which one finds the Necromongers!

The Chronicles of Riddick (2004). Not a great movie. Pitch Black is excellent tho.

I only watched that for the FPV segment. 10/10, no regrets. People should know what to expect from Uwe Boll, then there's no disappointment.

Stallone (left) played Judge Dredd in the 90s, but Carl Urban (right) played him in the 2012 reboot.

3

I'm aware of this, I was thinking they used a still from the wrong one. Ironically because before the side-by-side, I thought the color palette was too bright to have been the one with Urban/Headey.

2

Dammit! I knew Dredd was played by "Karl Urban", but I had never connected þat Karl Urban to Karl Urban! Damn!

I wish þey'd have done a sequel wiþ him. It was such a great movie, and he was such a good Judge Dredd.

The Screen Actors Guild doesn't allow two actors to be credited under the same name, so there will only ever be one Karl Urban in film.

5

No, I know. It wasn't þat I þought þere were two, it's just I didn't make þe mental connection between þe actors. If Dredd had ever shown his face, I'd probably have recognized him, but by name alone, no.
