Recently I’ve been wanting to contact my town gov about an issue. Someone gave me a number I should try calling. “Yeah I’ll call them sometime… but obviously not today… that’s too soon.” 2 weeks later
Just made the call yesterday after psyching myself up and… that department couldn’t help me, but they gave me the number of another department to call. I wrote it down, thanked them, hung up, then proceeded to freak out about the prospect of making a SECOND phone call in the span of a few minutes. I legitimately almost didn’t do it.
I have a referral from my doctor for an assessment, took a couple years to work myself up enough to ask and now I've been looking at it daily since July thinking "maybe tomorrow".
Its pretty bad but in the past I have crashed my computer just when I started speaking in a teams call from fear. Simple meeting really, but as I stuttered my hands just instinctively went to the terminal and I had issued a command knowing it would drop me from the meeting and force my computer to reboot.
Absolutely every single time, for emails as well, but less so.
Lately there was a really nice upgrade to my home countries medical system. I no longer have to call to get a prescription or actually open a sick leave. I can do it all through a webpage.

"a minute" lol
Yeah. Try, "the rest of the day."

All. The. Time.
It doesn't go as well in other languages, either.
I keep melting down and panicking.
Then mumble like an idiot and say the wrong things. Speak too loud or too fast. Then hanging up and forgetting most of what I said.
I got a job on a help desk when I was young and it helped immensely with this.
