A long time ago my wife and I went to the seaside with my parents. While on the pier my mum encouraged my wife to go see the fortune teller after she had gone in.
When my wife came out she was told that we would have twins. At the time my mother kept pestering us about grand children and we said no, and I'd said the thought of trying to raise and pay for twins would be an even greater deterrent for having kids.
About 5 months later we got our two beautiful cats who are siblings, and I would keep saying they are the twins the fortune teller mentioned. My mum was not pleased.
We ended up having a kid of our own choice years later and my mum barely visits, so much for all that pressure.

I remember my parents telling me what a big responsibility my cat was and how it's difficult it would be to do whatever it was.
Then in the next breath asking when I'd have children.
This happened multiple times and explains my upbringing.
I left my four year old cats home alone for a weekend. I don't think you can do that with humans.
not if you want to cook with them later, no. they go bad.

We treat our cat better than most people treat their kids!
Same with our dogs lol. People outright beating their children and I'd never do that to my dog no matter what they did.
I have two bunnies. That’s as close to kids as I want to get.
They are perpetual 2 year olds that stick EVERYTHING in their mouth 🙃
