I liked this in combination with the one I shared the other day where they said the fish got away.
In that one, it looks like it only got one talon on the side of the fish we see, while the one day it looks like at least 3 of the 4 toes got a solid hold on the fish.
Owls can move one of their 4 toes from front to back, but they'll always strike with 2 front, 2 back in an X to both maximize the grabbing area, and then to ensure an even grip on the prey. Grabbing a fish does no good if you can't hold onto it or squeeze it out of their own grasp.
