The benefits are twofold

  • you don't have to put your body through any of that
  • you don't have to deal with some fuckass man saying horrible things like this about you after you MANUFACTURED AND PUSHED AN ENTIRE PERSON OUT OF YOUR BODY

I'm not sure if child-free consciousness should come at the cost of doing disgust rituals at women's bodies

Also, that person is high. You can't exercise away stretched skin or scars. Some brain worms should probably be examined there.

To the people calling this a "disgust ritual" and the like, I'd encourage you to actually read OPs commentary on the meme before going all the way off.

And to the commenters talking like it's somehow "body shaming" to point out one of the more noticeable physical consequences of pregnancy, those marks are absolutely always a choice. Maybe an exception for someone who's in prison when they find out they're pregnant, or so utterly impoverished that getting to somewhere abortion is legal is impossible, but anyone in either of those situations has way bigger problems than stretch marks.

We should be tackling these way bigger prohlems first before we post any commentary on another person's body. Heck, for all we know maybe she actually DOES ive in one of those places where pregnancy is often unconsensual and/or its consequences are often not dealt with healthily or professionally. 🤷🏿‍♂️

We should also be tackling actual problems before defending a stranger against "commentary" that boils down to "why are you surprised by the entirely predictable consequences of your own foolish decisions?"

I'm tired of pretending that parents didn't sign up for absolutely every part of being parents. They get no fucking sympathy from me. They chose that and they're inflicting it on everyone around them all the time who didn't get a choice. My sympathy is reserved for the childfree people who just wanted to eat dinner or watch a movie and got an earful of screaming child and a case of the daycare flu for their troubles.

....but what about victims of rape who live in places where birth controls , sterilizations, and abortions are not widely available?

Did you read my previous comment? cause this is literally my previous comment.... . OK so clearly you didnt read my previous comment. Thanks for letting us know that.

I'm no medical professional, or a woman so I have zero insight.

If I were to guess I'd say it's following a larger pregnancy. Twins, triplets etc?

Open to correction.

Maybe, I've seen plenty of stretch marks in my day, but this looks like some weird AI thing.

Ya . If that lady didnt give birth to numerous babies at once like quintuplets or if she doesnt have a genetic disorder that makes scarring easier and more prominent on her? Then Id call this AI bullshit.

I also dont think we should be body shaming a person for marks on their body which they had no control over them being there, mother or not.

Dang! I bet all the downvotes came from people who just saw the picture and moved on. This is a really important part of the post that was obviously missed.

Misogynistic dummies like Mehmet are far too common.

but there are many uteri bearers who ALSO went through unconsensual pregnancies and have scarring just like this till this day.

We have to address the problems of lack of access to sex ed, sterilizationsz abortions and birth controls in all parts of the planet before we can comment as to someone's 'choice' of if they fuck up their body with a pregnancy

Cause for all we know....maybe she's one of those ladies ? 🤷🏿‍♂️ Nobody here knows her personally so what can we comment about her until we address the fact that most people with uteri on Earth dont have access to reliable sex ed, abortive services, sterlilizations and birth controls?

Nothing we can say to people with uteri like this UNTIL we completely , deeply and thoroughly address this very glaring issue of lack of access.

Oh I don’t disagree with you at all. All people should have access to birth control, family planning, sterilization if wanted, etc.

My comment was aimed more at what seems to be drive by downvoting. Folks saw the image in the post but skipped the message OP left underneath it, so they don’t have a full understanding of the intention. Women are shamed for having kids and shamed for not having kids, we are just shamed for existing at times too. Men like Mahmet in the image are exactly the kind of misogynists you are referring to, the type who shame women for things that can beyond our choice. I mean, I still have stretch marks from growth spurts as a young girl, those have never gone away.

I feel a lot of folks see this is a childfree community and downvote immediately without actually reading posts or thinking about context. I’m sure it’s in part of the toxicity and cringe that can exist in the reddit version, but I haven’t seen that in this community so far. And I didn’t see the OP as judging women, I saw it as judging the misogyny coming from Mahmet.

Well call me unusual but even if my future gf , partner, or wife had a belly like that and they had never given birth I would still be interested in them. homestly Id be MORE interested in them if they had had never had children cause nah fugg dem kids , too expensive!

The way I see it is that to be covered in scars, blemishes, acne marks, stretch marks, cellulite, insect bites, self-harm scars, burns, etc.... is to be human. Human skin has always been and probably will always be imperfect. Deal With It. If you cant accept the blemishes that a person has om their skin which they had no control over having them there? You dont deserve to call that person a partner.

I have a bunch of blemishes on me cause I ALWAYS get acne (I have to keep a boringly strict diet or else my acne goes absurd. Ive eaten nothing but homemade bread and eggs for the last month . THATS how boring and strict my diet has to be....) so I see no fault in another human who, just like me , is covered in marks and imperfections here and there. It is what it is. To be human is to be covered in blemishes and imperfections.
