Coathanger cursive Stacey, slightly different style to make the folds and bends a little easier
Sorry no banana for scale, had to use a ruler today. ~24cm long.
The lowercase t is one of the most difficult to bend, and uppercase S isn't exactly easy either, so I spent about a week with that as a backburner project in mind, like how to simplify both first letters at once.
This is my final result, and it threw my mind for a few loops because I'm not at all used to starting with the second letter, only to loop back to the first letter...

Very cool as usual.
Could you bend the ruler?
I probably can bend the ruler, but I'd prefer not to.
I found the ruler in a parking lot like 4 years ago, glad nobody ran it over 👍
impressive

So cool. How do you do it?
I just start with a metal coathanger, clip the hook off, and straighten it out. Then between hand bending plus pliers for the sharp bends, I form them around my fingers in a single stroke cursive style.
I started bending telephone wire when I was only 5, now I'm 44 and pretty well experienced with wire bending, plus of course I have bigger muscles than I did when I was a kid so I'm able to bend the much tougher coathanger wire now.
So cool. Are these those thin, simply bendable coat hangers or thick stiff ones?
Most of the hangers I have in my box are the thicker rigid steel hangers, so yeah pretty tough to bend, but not all that tough. Just a bit of a pain in the hands to do, but doable.
My box of hangers is a bit of a mix and match though, some of the hangers are a little thinner and easier to bend, I just keep those off to the side for whatever other projects, like if I gotta bend even more intricate shapes or perhaps try to go for smaller text size to squeeze in a couple more letters.
Generally speaking, I can bend out anywhere from 6 to 8 letters out of a single hanger, but I might be able to get 10 letters out of a thinner hanger and smaller text.
I've also worked with paperclips before as well, with similar miniature results.
That's coat Hanger's mom has got it going on!
Yes I made one for my mom as well, for Mother's Day no less. ❤
