A cheap PR campaign that requires further customer spending and entrenches their prior price increases.

Right? It's tempting at first to think "at least they did something", but they kinda didn't...

"Sorry we overcharged you, if it makes you feel better you can buy more of our stuff!"

Didn't Nintendo pass tariffs onto customers and then put out a statement saying they weren't entitled to refunds. "Made possible by refunds," as if they aren't the ones setting their own ridiculous prices.

And even for a PR stunt like this they won't go lower than the usual 30%.

"You can spend more money on us at a slightly less insanely inflated cost that is still extremely profitable for us."

When your Public Image is so bad you actually have to announce that you are Appreciating your own customers

If they really want to share customer appreciation because of tarried refunds then cancel the switch 2 price hike. Anything less is just using current events for marketing gimmicks

"Customer Appreciate Sale" (places no controls on limited edition switch 2, sells out immediately to only scalpers.........)
