His dad's family emigrated from there.
Source: I most resemble my maternal grandfather, and have run across a dozen or more folk from around Elgin, Scotland, who could be my bleedin' twin!

Either that, or that's where pappy was on leave in WW1

Maybe he fucked the whole town, and only the female half got pregnant?

Does that mean you're getting a date for Friday?

[jk, but you shouldn't give me an opening like that and not expect me to use it.]

There's a town in Germany where the folks have a certain family name as a nickname - they are colloquially known as the "Dellmänner". Gossip has it that during World War II the only fertile male in town was Pastor Dellmann...

All the locals in the town share the same looks and hair as the solider pictured. Implying that when the soldier says "this is the town my pappy told me about" it's likely because his father slept with (or raped) many of the locals when he was stationed there.

I mean, it’s a comic, so hopefully we can assume rape wasn’t involved, even being a boomer comic, Jesus

lemmy.world

I don’t see anything there indicating he was making comics glorifying rape… unless you’re calling out me saying it’s boomer humor, which I guess is fair, it’s greatest generation humor?

I wish we could stop calling them “Greatest” A title they stole from a book about them that came out in 1998. They were never the “greatest” before that, they were the “GI generation” or the “Silent Generation”.

FWIW the Boomers were their kids, not the same group.

It was the 'boomer' that ignited my rage.

I was a fan of his work from a very young age. I liked a lot of stuff from before I was born.

2

Yea that’s fair, I think in my head boomer is now just tied to anything predating the 70s. Honestly he looks like he was an amazing person

Or this is a comic strip and when it was made I m like 99.999% sure the guy want going “LETS MAKE A RAPE JOKE FELLA’S!!”

There’s literally a gazillion things to be outraged about right now, and this is the hill you pick to die on? Fuck my whole novelty account is making fun of CIA facist shit and even I think that’s asinine.

to be fair, a CIA chatbot sounds like an interesting idea.

would it give me honest answers to things the CIA knows?

Or would it ask me questions just to gain information?

lemmy.world

That’s a good question, what kind of questions do you think I would ask to get information out of you? As a side note, just hypothetically, how do you feel about, I dunno, the prime minister of Malaysia? Would you say, that maybe, just spitballing here, that it would be believable if a male model shot him like in that movie?

7

I'm kind of scared to google them to find out how 1-10 the prime minister of malaysia is on the dreaminess scale because i really can't rate a prime minister properly without filling out their horoscope and shit. and then i'm gonna get me on another list aren't i.

i only want to be on so many lists, cia dude. i'm already on like 5. isn't 5 enough?

Yeah as an Okinawan, this comic has rapey vibes. Hopefully I'm overthinking it.

I though they were all wearing the same strange little hat.

His dad was a trans soldier, had a little fun with a local lad, and the youngster we see reflects the towns predominant genetics.

Off topic, but is there an island i can sail to where they have the show? I've been looking for a while now and this is not a good look for me, considering my nickname...
