Absolutely brutal tease, I was ready for it to be the new meme but Satella mercifully spared us from that timeline with her interruption.

So this coupled with the fact that the witch that cursed him showed up for a split second (or well I think it's her) tells me that something broke her control over him while he was in the book, letting him access more powers and talk to people about his old one. It would of stopped him usually from saying that last part I think.

The scorpion shows up near the end of the fight with gluttony when he starts losing, and once specifically after he used his teleport. I think he used it as well the second time after he got smashed in the floor and it actually teleports him far away and switches him with a double which activates the scorpion.

Another theory I have from a while back is that the creator of the tower is actually Subaru and he has been doing this for hundreds of years.
