That's why you always hear that the harder you try, the less success you'll have with these things. I never actively looked for a partner, have a lot of mental issues and am a fat fuck, but the longest i was single since i was 18 (going towards my 50s now) was about 6 months. I never actually pursued getting into relationships. Being a fun guy to be around, brandishing a healthy dose of humor, and simply being honest makes up for a lot of things. Flirting is easy even for a social cripple like me if you are doing it just for for the fun of it instead of using it as a means to reach some goal - the latter approach reeks of desperation.

Btw, being single and living alone for the first time in my life since April makes it clear to me that i actually enjoy not having people around, regardless of my feelings towards them. Don't force yourself to seek or to be in a relationship "because that's what people do" or "because it is expected of me", enjoy the freedom that comes with being unbound instead - it's an attractive trait to be independent.
