So Google won't make APIs that allow developers access to RCS and therefore the ability to integrate it into third party messaging clients, but this is potentially kosher? Go fuck your hat Alphabet.

This event prompted the development of an empty app: a placeholder with the same name and a massively inflated version number, SafetyCore v2000000000. Users sideload it, so the Google Play Store can’t overwrite the app with the real SafetyCore.

Just make sure to read the GitHub page first as proper uninstallation of the original is essential.
