Question about mystery spots
First, I want to say that I will be talking to a vet about this as soon as I can. In the meantime, I am hoping someone here might have experience and could help ease my mind. These spots all of a sudden showed up on my dog under her front-right leg. It does not appear to bother her when I press on it, and has not grown in size. She is less than 5 years old, and spends most of her time inside. There do not appear to be any indications of a bite mark or other laceration. As far as I know, she has not been exposed to any chemicals. I bathed her two weeks ago.
Any ideas?

Under the pit, do you use a harness that wraps under that part of their legs?
Yeah, I do. Hmm. I will keep an eye on that and make sure it’s perfectly fitted. Thanks for the suggestion!
It could have just been that they tugged too hard and caused a bruise or that it's rubbing and causing irritation.
My dog has sensitive skin and we had a harness cause irritation. But the ultimate solution was to switch to a food that contained salmon because the natural oils helped his skin more than anything.
Took me way too long to notice that was a dogs belly.
It could just be the dog's actual skin color coming through. My chipoo was the same way; after he got a bit older, he started getting darker spots on his skin that I initially thought was bruising. Vet said it was normal.
Is it dry and/or flakey (like a rash) or just discolored?
Just discolored. And it happened so suddenly.
Could just be a common skin infection. My lab gets it frequently. Clears up with a medicated dogwash. Chlohexadine based, ask your vet.
