"Industrial rock is credited with bringing industrial music to the normies with bands like Nine Inch Nails, Ministry and early Skinny Puppy"

aw yeah! Trent is my favorite Disney creative! (/jk)

Meme suggestion for someone who knows more about the genre than me: the xkcd purity comic, but about different industrial bands with a washing machine at the far end.

kek great idea! I guess I'd say...

  1. Nine Inch Nails
  2. Skinny Puppy
  3. Throbbing Gristle
  4. one of those pre-Industrial people. like that Arseny Avraamov?

and "way over there" would be:

  • someone with a jackhammer breaking concrete.

How's that sound @[email protected] ?

And what would the characters say? Something like "NIN is just Skinny Puppy with synths", etc.?

And would it make more sense to have each step here a different subgenre, not a specific band?

EDIT: Brainstorming here

a different subgenre, not a specific band

I was thinking each subgenre could be wearing t-shirts with the logos of each band, tho that might be hard to read at small scales. plus I doubt Arseny Avraamov had a logo. Maybe he could have a nametag. (edit: oh wait "Symphony of Sirens" kinda has a logo in the video.)

let's see... subgenres would be:

  1. Nine Inch Nails / industrial rock, saying nothing (maybe saying "$$$" or the Disney logo if we want to be mean, but nah Trent is all right!)
  2. Skinny Puppy / post-industrial, saying "NIN is just post-industrial for normies!"
  3. Throbbing Gristle / industrial, saying "Skinny Puppy is just industrial for the masses!"
  4. Arseny Avraamov / experimental pre-Industrial, saying "Throbbing Gristle is just experimental pre-Industrial for kids!"

and “way over there”:

  • Industrial Worker is saying "Oh hey I couldn't hear you over my jackhammer!"

it kinda loses the "drums / synths / guitars" angle tho...

Almost there. We need one more

And I agree that t-shirt logos would not work in this linework art style. I could edit the first character a bit to give them more of a '90s Reznor hairstyle. Any other ideas for props or whatever for each of the other characters? Or just leave them as-is?

oh yeah piefed.social federation was kinda screwy since Friday, I'm still catching up!

You reached the end
