Midnight Run (1988) surprised me. I didn't see it when it came out, although I'm old enough to have.
This was DeNiro's first comedy, which opened the door for later roles such as in Meet the Fokkers.
The chemistry between Robert DeNiro and Charles Grodin was the main draw. I liked Grodin, but his acting was never great IMO. But, the two worked together so well, I actually watched the whole movie without skipping ahead, which is unusual for me these days.

Skip ahead? What in the hell
Right, like why even watch anything if you're going to just skip ahead?
Some movies have a lot of fluff, they could really be a 45 minute tv show, but they filled it out to movie length. However, the story is still interesting enough that I want to see the end, so I skip past the fluff, instead of just shutting it off. Most movies I start, I end up shutting off in inside the first 30 minutes. I'm very hard to please, I guess? Yet another reason I don't go to the theater anymore. I found I was walking out on movies too often, which is a waste of money.
This movie is mostly meat, and I couldn't predict the end, so I'm wasn't compelled to skip any parts.
Right on, I just can't do it. Never know when a juicy bit is gonna come by.

Midnight Run is great!
I have trouble getting through a day without quoting it somehow. "You got yer camera? Take a picture!"
Midnight Run is actually a great movie, I only watched it for the first time a couple of years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it.
