I picked all the currants, blackcurrants and gooseberries from our garden
This is this year's haul. It's not much, but I managed to pick them just when they were ripe enough to not turn into useless mush.
The bushes are completely empty. Nothing left for the birds this year 🙂

Thank you for helping us understand the currant state.
Hey look: we let the ducks pick all our blueberries - mostly because we can get blueberries at the supermarket and they can't, and we like the duckies. But the currants are for us!
What are you making with them? Jam? Jelly? Some kind of cordial?
We eat the gooseberries as-is: the bowl is near the kitchen, and whenever we go there, we pick a couple. It'll be gone soon.
As for the currants, my wife doesn't like the bitterness. So I freeze them, then every once in a while, I break off a slab, put it in a bowl, let it thaw some, then add some yogurt and sugar to make a bowl of "ice cream": it tastes good and it's low-effort enough for lazy me 🙂
