With Fender being proper assholes right now, I spent the last few weeks going all over town trying out SGs and Les Pauls. I quickly found I have a strong preference for the the SG neck profile, as well as the way the body sits and aligns with my body. The selection of SGs was surprisingly limited across 6 Guitar Centers and a couple local shops. I found basically everything about the Gibson superior to the Epiphone. Eventually landed on the '61 Standard in Translucent Teal.

My first car was a '74 Datsun 260z, in emerald green, with a custom license plate. So this finish really connected with me. I usually go for a classic burst style (tobacco, bourbon, iced tea) so it's nice to add a little variety in the collection.

Grats on the new guitar!

I don't see the connection. I would if you were looking for non fender teles or strats or something. Are you getting something similar to one of their non trebly guitars?

I already have two non-Fender S-type guitars in addition to a USA Fender Strat Deluxe Plus. Intending to get rid of the Fender, but Guitar Center on give like 55-60% of the estimated sale value on trades, so I need to sort that elsewhere, maybe Sweetwater Gear Exchange.

Hey, I think that's my guitar. I saw it first, please give it back.

Jk, you have excellent taste. Have fun with your new axe!
