I am inheriting a fat-tire bike from a dead friend.

Its a salsa mukluk 3. It comes with studded 26 in tires and two panniers. I've always wanted fat bike but i just wish the circumstances were better.

Good news gang! I got the bike and changed into the summer tires, rides beautifully!

Bad news gang! The bike bit me REALBad .

I'm sorry about your friend. Enjoy the bike, especially if they specifically left it for you. Maybe do a few rides specifically in memory of them?

Enjoy the plushie comfort that large tyres provide. it has it's place (often on the beach) . Sympathies for your loss.

Honor your friend, put some Jumbo Jims on there, and ride it often. I love my Surly Wednesday. Really eats up rocky trails in Southwest US.

While i was digging the bike outbi found some basically unused surly 4in summer tires! Dude basically used the bike for winter riding.

the ideal thing to happen to anyones stuff is it go to someone who wants or needs it and appreciates it. Even better if they are someone they knew. for most of us it will get trashed or liquidated.

yeah, this guy would be pleased as punch that somebody is using his stuff. The only thing this guy cared about was his dog. and that dog is now with somebody who loves it just as much as he did.
