Best Open Source video editor?
as we know capcut is no longer good for free users, any recommendation for open source video editor? i prefer option to export projects so i can archive it to my drive.

I use kdenlive which seems to fit your requirements.

Kdenlive, easily. The only other video editor that feels good to use on Linux is the non-FOSS DaVinci Resolve (which requires paying for you to get any practical codec support).
Some people say Blender, but those people must not work on very complicated projects...
For simple cutting & slicing I honestly just write ffmpeg oneliners.

ffmpegand not having to install another tool for a single task.I do not edit videos, I just record with
obs-studioand cut out unneeded parts.ffmpegdoes that, it does so fast and without any problems + it also works for converting videos to another codec.FFMPEG is nice when you do something like
ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -vcodec copy -acodec copy -ss 00:01:00 -t 00:03:00 out.mp4and the result is almost instant as there's no re-encoding.FYI - you only need
-c copyand do not need to specifyacodecandvcodec, if both of them are going to becopyanyway.The only reason to use blender and why blender has one, is CG animation work. It would be silly to have the interface where you do exactly the same thing as in a video editor, except with the timing of animations instead of footage, but not have one for footage as well. Especially if the animation sometimes depends on when which part of the footage plays.
Rendering, exporting, importing, finding a detail is wrong, is more annoying than having it right there in the same UI.
Ive always been partial to Shotcut for proper video editing, but I also use HandBrake for simple tanscoding jobs.
ShotCut is alright but it chokes and dies with a large video with complex cuts. I tried using it to edit trailers, a pre roll intro, and an intermission into a 1080p film for a movie night I host and it would hang indefinitely and crash frequently.
For short and simple projects it's fine, even kind of nice to use.
This issue was solved by recent updates and it is mostly related to how your audio displays at different resolutions. If you choose a zoom that fits your system, you can edit +1 hour 1080p files, with many cuts and filters, without a problem.

Kdenlive. But it depends on your technical level. I advise you try the rest.
There are lots of them in Flathub.
I've been using Blender's video sequencer. I think it's great. You can find some pretty good tutorials on YouTube.

There's a couple of capcut alternatives: OpenCut, FableCut, Shocut and Kdenlive.

Blender's VSE ( Video Sequence Editor ) - open source, best if you're already in Blender 3D/VFX.
If on your phone, ig edits is solid for free
Just a heads-up, keep in mind the community you're posting in (Open-Source). Open-source is about the open-source development model, not whether you're required to pay.
Id use blender compositor + video sequencer, it got some updates recently
