Europeans often ask me how Americans know when they should use sick leave. Like, how do I know if I'm going to be more suck later and need it more then? And what if I am sick more than I have leave?
I don't really know what to tell them. My glib answer is, "you lose your job, your insurance, get kicked out of your home, and probably die".

For a second I read this as "Vagina Expands Paid Sick Leave" and was like "yep, that seems reasonable"
