Hi,
are you seeing this on pages that work when you reload them or is it persistent on certain URLs?
Do you see an error message being returned?
The default Lemmy interface has a part like this below the matrix handles for admins:
Unfortunately, errors returned by Lemmy aren't often that useful in what you see as a user, but it would still help to know which URL you were on and roughly which time, including timezone.
For me, the image uploads but I get the error when I try to post.
I found that if I remove the script around the hyperlink that makes it display, I can post the link to the lemmy-uploaded image. (Removing the ! [] And ( ) symbols).
Also Making the explanation mark start at a new line sometimes works.
At present it's my only work around.
For example.

you mean creating or updating a post with embedded images is causing issues in some cases?
Its the initial upload of the image. The 500 problem happens regardless if it's a fresh comment or an edited comment trying to add the image.
Sometimes it happens. Sometimes it doesn't. Im not sure what the factor is but i only upload jpgs and pngs so it's not a file type causing it.
I just tried now and it worked.
Weird.
It definitely has not been working for me for most of the last 7 days or so. The only way I could post was to remove the ! And []
Next time it happens I'll take a screenshot of the error and include the image linked to imgur or something if I can't get it to post.
