Any good F-Droid games that you have played?

There is a surprising number of gems in F-Droid. Simon Taltham's Puzzles is excellent, as is Breakout 71. Shattered Pixel Dungeon is fun too, and of course I live emulating games with Retroarch. Lichess is neat and has a lovely Android client if you play chess.

Any other good games on F-Droid?

Russian roulette but instead of pulling the trigger on a revolver, I install apps at random and see if my phone gets assimilated into a Muscovite cryptominer botnet.

  1. Install Termux
  2. Run this harmless Russian roulette bash script
  3. Repeat step 2 for infinite fun
[ $[ $RANDOM % 6 ] == 0 ] && echo fail || echo pass;

LOVE this game. perfect amount of time needed to play without getting lost in it. Dev updates and improves regularly. adds features and content all the time.

This game was too much for my simple mind when I tried it. Maybe I should give it another shot.

It really is very fun, and I like that it auto-pauses when you let go of the paddle

2

Is it any better than the original (the graphics are horrendous and the tutorial not very good)?

Gurgle (wordle clone) and Gridle, word games. Cards With Cats is very good if you like to play Hearts. Ball2box, it's all in the name. Super Retro Mega Wars has some serviceable classics like asteroids and Tetris. SuperTuxKart is alright. Simple Solitaire Collection isn't maintained anymore, but hasn't been surpassed yet on f droid imo. Getting good mileage out of Lemuroid of course, the console emulator for people who don't like configuring things.

Yeah I used to just go on f-droid and scroll for a few hours to see what was out there and what would catch my eye. Sometimes you don't know what you're looking for until you see it. Wouldn't dream of going on the play store and just browse by category, but on f-droid it's doable.

Just mainly wanted to give a shout out to Cards With Cats, because it's so well made and cute and challenging and somehow never ends up on people's favorites lists.

Cats are indeed very cute! Super Retro Mega Wars looks super well made as well

Block drop, a tetris clone. Also OpenMW but you need to buy Morrowind to play that

3

I'll check Block Drop out! Searching for it also pops up a Blokus clone, didn't know that existed!

Ah, I love that dev's work. Always with the original stuff.

Anyway, I recognise that game as an old classic. I wouldn't really say "Catan" because the regions don't have specific resources, but yeah, kinda like Risk with special units. There's also a deep campaign version of it online:

Idle Fantasy is really great. I love it.

2

I like HyperRogue and recently installed Braincup, but that's a bit intense.

2

I really like Gaugin. It is similar to SoDuKo, but a little more math. I also like to play Freebloks, which is like the board game Blokus.

Lato is kind of Zen

tactics Master is fun if you like chess stuff

freecell4 is actually pretty good representation of the original if you like Free cell

tower defense has a few good options like anuto or chip defense

I play the puzzles game you mentioned most often though it's just got so many options. been into unruly lately

I haven't finished it, but I thought Xeonjia: Ice Adventures was pretty good. It's a combination of sokoban and adventure games where you navigate the world by solving block puzzles.
