"The rocket’s upper stage will unintentionally slam into the moon on Wednesday", "With the action unfolding in the wee hours of the morning for the US"

Is there an NDA or something prohibiting the article from showing the actual impact date and time? Because the actual date and time would be useful if someone with a powerful backyard scope wanted to attempt watching. I can guess they mean this coming Wednesday, but "wee hours"?

I found this: https://www.projectpluto.com/25010d.htm

On 2026 August 5, within a few minutes of 06:35 UTC, an upper stage (section) of a rocket used for a lunar mission will hit the moon. This may be of some (probably minor) scientific interest, and we may learn some things from it. It doesn't present any danger to anyone, though it does highlight a certain carelessness about how leftover space hardware (space junk) is disposed of.

We piss and shit all over our own planet and people get upset over a barren wasteland in space? Okay, I'll be mildly upset for a few minutes and then get back to worrying about the actual problems.

Some people have to worry about their lives, others worry about the ethics of one additional artificial moon crater.

And many people worry about both. What's your point?

Maslows hierarchy of needs, you should learn them. More people literally cant afford to care and fret about the newest craters on the moon and the nature of their existence than those who can afford it.

If you can afford to care, and you dont see how thats a privilege, then thats on you. Not my fault if people dont understand how little moon craters matter compared to whats happening to peoples lives down here on earth. Sure, maybe some people care about both. But not many actually do.

Jfc no one is saying some people don't or can't care at all i said is many care about both. And as someone with GAD worrying about more things is not a privilege.
