the broken septagram in motion

This project has evolved from a prior submission. https://feddit.uk/post/41070161

I ended up with an LCD screen on my CPU pump for some reason, so I decided to play around with it, make it mine. Let me see if I can get a video up... Yep!

I did the video editing in kdenlive, I think it was a vertigo effect and one other, which I'm forgetting.

This would go way hard as a music visualizar

Hell yeah. How people make those is mind boggling to me though. Especially stuff like electric sheep, would be cool to see shapes like this on one of those screen savers.

The Broken Pentagram is really interesting. Is there a write-up of it's symbolism somewhere? (I searched but didn't find.)

Thank you! I give different answers depending on how much I think I should say. I'll tell it all, no reason not to. Sometimes it represents the imperfection of the world (seven days, seven seas, seven continents, etc - seven comes up a lot in Christian theology). Other times it's a Thelemic sigil that represents the splitting of the atom in occult terms - thaumo nuclear weaponry. But the answer I like best right now is that the elven star (the 7:3) is a ward against evil, and this represents a failure or a doomed attempt to resist evil. A reminder to resist even when it cannot be beaten. Sometimes you don't fight to change the world, you just fight to stop the world from changing you.

I like having multiple answers. You never know who's going to ask, and anyway I have a healthy dislike of certainty. I try to hold ideas lightly.

Really fascinating. I was going to forward an image of this to a friend, what's the best representation? Is it this? And under what artist name should I credit it?

Credit to [email protected] is fine, thanks! I haven't attached my identity to any of my creative work yet.

That is probably the best one for now, yes. If you rotate it, the feel really changes I think. I've thought about doing a vector of it, but it'd come out too clean and pleasant looking. It's supposed to look wrong, all rough edges and scattered flow.
