I dont know if they are really that similar. The idea of a valley leading to a cave or opening in a wall isn't exactly original to either piece of work. I think that the one you linked might be similar either by coincidence or artists subconscious, but I highly doubt it is inspired by this artwork.

This would be perfect for an establishing shot in a Dark Sun DnD campaign.
Any idea if this predates the artwork for the German show Dark? They're strikingly similar.

This is a painting from maybe 60s or 70s if I would guess.
