That indicates a saved comment or post. You probably saved it by accident, I do it pretty frequently.

I've really never understood this feature, seems like only a very small amount of people would ever use it... And I can't see anyone doing so regularly.

EDIT: I just copy the info into a message to myself in whatever messaging app I use... I'm not out here with a library of old comments like some weirdo.

I use it constantly. I don’t like doing screenshots because I like my photos on my phone to mostly be family, cats, and work, so I’m always using the save feature if there’s something I might want to revisit.

Are browser bookmarks useless too? Saving posts/comments is really no different, the feature is there so you can refer back to them later. I have a few that I have saved with useful information in them and a relevant with some frequency.

I used to save comments on reddit so I could refer back to them later. One was the one when PowerBall first hit a billion dollars and someone wrote out a very detailed plan of what you should do when you win the lottery, others were tech support, pirated ROM links, etc. I dont think I've saved anything here on Lemmy but I can see why some might find it useful.

I remember the powerball one and referenced in conversation just yesterday. I did have it saved too.

I just saved a comment yesterday to remind me to talk to the user when something happens. This way i can easily find the comment instead of running through hundreds of comments to find a single one.

For posts you can accidentally do it by doing a long swipe left. (Short swipe is reply.) On a comment, though, you would have had to have gone into the kebab menu.

Kebab menu is funny. I’ve heard hamburger menu before, but not kebab menu.

Hamburger menu when it’s three lines, kebab when it’s three dots. (At least, that’s the naming convention we use at work.)

I would like to add to this three dots vertically is kebab menu, horizontally is meat ball menu, and 3x3 dots is bento menu lol. No one gets it when i actually use these though.

You reached the end
