Can we not do Reddit-style one-upping replies? You've added nothing to the thread except a very low-effort quip that leads to The Price Is Right "No, no, you need a trillion!" "No, no, you need a quadrillion!" etc. that just... sap every reader's seconds of their lives away.
I'm sure you say plenty of clever and helpful things elsewhere, but I'm so over Reddit and I don't want Lemmy to be like it.
Ah yes, the undisclosed context of... shitheads being deplatformed for espousing shit ideologies. Take your "crime in quotes even though they didn't say that" and shove off.
True, but after the incident happened it seemed as though some people did everything in their power to make it look like a mentality to him (i.e. combing through his past posts to see if he himself said anything yikes to prove to everyone how shitty he is). The "shove it up your ass" comment is enough to point to, so pointing to the (now deleted, might I add) statutory rape comment feels more like having a hate boner for the guy and that your goal is to moreso make you hate him as much as you rather than just the plain 'don't buy the game from this guy, he's a reactionary'.
He got his shit pushed in by militant fascism wearing the flayed skin of communism, and now he blames the left for everything wrong with his world like he's possessed by the ghost of Ayn Rand.
But sure, call it based like you were born yesterday.
There are currently 1,189 Steam games discounted at 70% or higher with a minimum of 5000 reviews, including The Witcher 3, Hearts of Iron IV, Cyberpunk 2077, and Deep Rock Galactic:
I'm still mourning the day MS Flight Sim 2020 went on sale for 85% but they snatched it from my cart before I could purchase it and corrected it to 15%.
The idea that buying products is a moral choice to "support" something is your brain on capitalism. They've actually convinced people that shopping is responsible citizenship and moral agency. Not even morality can exist outside of the market.
OP, presumably:
"Why don't poor people simply stop being poor? They should just ask their father for a small loan of a million dollars."
You need at least a Billion these days.
Make.sure to set a few million aside for Charity.
Constructive criticism, honestly:

I'm going to hold you hand when I tell you this...
Its too late for that.
Except for Factorio, if you see a 1% discount, jump on it
Don't support reactionaries. Go play Satisfactory instead!
There are few popular topics as reactionary as online gamer drama 🙄
Sure, sure, and all those hollywood actresses really were just hard to work with. yappy hand gesture
Eli5?
Kovarex, the maker of Factorio, is a reactionary anti-leftist. He exposed himself on reddit and has since edited or deleted his comments. Here's a thread about it with links to the original incident. https://www.reddit.com/r/GamerGhazi/comments/o34v6h/factorio_founder_rages_about_cancel_culture_after/
Good to know that his "crime" was opposing censorship in some undisclosed context.
People talk about it like if he actually harms people.

If your source for something is ever that sub Reddit, you should probably take a moment to re-evaluate things
The link on the post goes directly to comments postyed by kovarex himself. Get outta here with that shit lmao
Except it doesn't because they were deleted.
kovarex's response was thus: "Take the cancel culture mentaility and shove it up your ass."
Sounds kinda based. Vaguely remember that, FFF about software development and then people start complaining about politics.
Not wanting to support shitty people is fucking common sense, not a "mentality."

Talking about software development is shitty people?
There are shitty people in software development. I can't believe someone has to tell you this.

When did kovarex do any of that? I just see a couple of out of context now deleted posts and conclusions drawn from them. Hardly militant fascist.
Yeah thanks for letting us know you didn't actually read it. Blocked.
It's a game that not nearly as fun as any of the other factory games.
Factorio, shapez, foundry, astro colony > satisfactory
On the flip side, Satisfactory has been the only logistics game I've enjoyed. It just clicked for me better than the others.
They're saying factorio is better...
Never said it wasn't a good game. I'm saying that the ones I listed are better then satisfactory
Dyson Sphere Program?
Never tried it, will have to take a look
It's much closer to 3D Factorio than Satisfactory
Love that game! Highly recommended!
It's absolutely gorgeous. I don't even care that it can only run at half speed on my laptop. The screenshots I get are second to none.
No kidding. For those curious, here's what it looks like when you approach a neutron star:
Nah that whole thing was vastly overblown
But I already bought it. Unless.. could I buy another Factorio?
Thank you for reminding me about the summer sale!
As if anything goes more than 70% off these days
Wildly inaccurate.

This sounds more like an argument that you don't have to make moral considerations when you spend money because lol capitalism
It hurt itself in its confusion!
To me it sounds like one of those posts, that ask why do I have to work for a living?
If only anti-onsumption had an advertising budget.
