wait, vampires? i've seen the shadow people in those hills. is that what they were?

also, in the middle of the night that night a few leaves fell on the rain fly of the tent and i had my wife convinced they were slugs. because i was convinced they were slugs and i'm a very convincing person. it was a good camping trip.

No idea what type, but it had the classic low hoo hoo. It was darker than the photo lets on.

My guess was a Great Horned from the overall shape and the color of the facial disc. The low classic hoot is going to be them.

Sorry Santa Cruz, thought it was obvious since that’s where you were but I guess this community is not location-based at all! My bad.

oh no worries, i just travel a bit for work, didn't want to assume you were here.

these beaches are great camping spots, no?

also you're not married to a lumpy dude, are you? your username is pretty close to what my wife would choose and i don't like combing through people's comments.

I mean my hubby isn’t thin (we’re in our 40s) but I’m not sure I’d call him lumpy, ha! My username is quite old, from when I was in high school and got mad when people would tell me blonde jokes, as I’d feel they were making fun of me. It’s from an era when AIM only allowed ten characters 😂

Ooo what perfect camping company! I'm happy you got to spot one!

there were at least two, but my phone was all the way off and it took time to get the camera on

I'm just happy when people actually get to spot them in person. That's a feat in itself.
