Is there anywhere with a list of phone models and compatible OS?
I'm looking to get a different OS on my phone (currently it's default Samsung Android), but I can't find any that officially support my model. Where can I find a list of OS that support my phone?
My phone is a Samsung galaxy a32 5g if that helps
Beware, if your device is the Verizon version then the answer is that most likely there is absolutely nothing you can do. Never buy the Verizon version because they lock them down and throw away the key
It's not the fastest solution, but the best answer for me almost always comes from spending an hour or so on the xda developers forum for whatever model phone I'm looking at.

DivestOS isn't around anymore, GrapheneOS won't work on it, and I think Calyx is still out of the game so that leaves Lineage as your best option. Maybe Kali

So, CalyxOS is currently attempting an AOSP 16 update but the AOSP 17 update is releasing and it is already out of date, so NOT THAT.
GrapheneOS is more up to date but only supports Pixel phones AFAIK.
Linux is going to be your best bet. PostmarketOS supports 735 devices but alas it might(?) not support the a35 as only the a3, a30, a32, and a40 are listed from what I saw.
When you say that PostmarketOS supports 735 devices, does that mean it can be installed, or that basic functionality like making a phone call works?
735 is definitely just the number of devices that can boot postmarketos. The list of mature, well-supported devices (with enough working features to be considered as such) is much smaller, though still pretty great. Making phone calls seems to be especially spotty, unfortunately.

Great suggestion! But honestly at what point do we decide changes to the AOSP have burned us once too many?
Yesterday. However Linux is still very much niche for mobile devices. At the moment most people just don't have a choice. They want to use banking and all the stuff. The upcoming changes for apps installed outside of the Google Play Store are outraging but will.make it even harder for alternatives.
It's all gotta start somewhere.
Samsung's are generally the least modifiable.
The last Samsung I was able to do much with was the S4.
