Elder millennial here - I also have zero clue what this movie is. Anyone care to fill me in on what I missed?

Elder millennial here and I really dislike nostalgia. A lot of old friends seem very stuck in the past, always talking about how things used to be and I see it as a sign that they're unhappy in their current situation. People who look forward and talk about new things seem to be happier.

Hahah appreciating good times in one’s personal past and looking forward to the future aren't mutually exclusive! I hope your friends can find something to look forward to!

I'm with you. Nostalgia is just seeing results while losing sight of the process. "It all turned out great" is a very nice illusion to erase the struggle to get anything done.

Yeah, me being nostalgic for the times spent in my parents' finished basement is just seeing the results and losing sight of the process. Please put up some painter's tape if you're going at with such a large brush.

Elder millennial nostalgia is connecting two gameboys together with a link cable and remembering when Pokemon battles became about only battles between lvl 100 Mewtwos because every single person knew how to get infinite rare candies using missingno.

It's kinda weird that mellenials are so nostalgic for that movie, and the movie was intended to be nostalgia bait for our parents.

As probably as old as you can be for the Oregon trail generation (okay guess it goes a few years off) but never jived with the gen x feel, but I got no idea what the pics of this are from.

Mostly added the Oregon trail stuff so it was evident I was relatively close to millennial. Never felt like I fit most of the generational descriptors. And gen x said they were unnoticed heh. Wait maybe I'm a bit closer than I thought but still, no clue what the pics are from and I watched all the tv back then, except for this it appears.

Honestly, so many more things trigger nostalgia for me lately. I wonder if it’s part of getting older or if how terrible everything else is reinforces it haha

The summer heat alone can do it for me. How the trees look in the sun brings me back to riding bikes in the summer and eating watermelon on the back porch and sleepovers with friends.

This is your reminder to slice up some watermelon to enjoy on your porch or in a park. Offer some to someone there, might make a friend
