I was about to say he wasn't even that old. But 81, damn. I love his stories on Doom. He had never really done any metal before which is why so many of the tracks are similar to real songs. Also Into Sandy's City being done with piano until he set it to a harpsichord as a joke and bam, instantly iconic. Like most of his work at the time, really. RIP to one of the guys that gave me the music taste I have today.

It was one of my childhood dreams to get on ocremix. I made one a long time ago and submitted it, but they rejected it dismissively and said it sounded too close to the original. It was just amped up chiptune basically with fx. I was heartbroken and never did that again. I still have the file and still think it sounds awesome. It was the Duke Nukem theme song, and I wanted it to just sound huge and hit hard, but still have that gamey hypey badass feel.

Sorry. I was drunk after a long day. The nostalgia hit hard and I lost it.
