It would work so much better as a cartoon than any kind of live action, no matter how many special effects they threw at it.

There's so much stuff that is real difficult to pull off in live action and is super simple animated. One of the main characters is a talking cat. And honestly, just having him in his boxers the whole time will be less weird if animated.

Feel like they are having a renaissance right now, between Rick and Morty, Invincible, Arcane, Blue Eye Samurai.
