Finite but not fixed, maybe the time spent on this caused me to miss some rendezvous with fate I otherwise had and so gained a great many seconds by it.

Jokes on you, I'm here doubling down, spending more seconds posting this comment:

Have a great and fruitful rest of your life, dear internet stranger!

"The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time." — Bertrand Russell or something. Also while finite, it is still very big number.

Another point, I am already on lemmy, I am here exactly for this purpose. Gonna read all comments too.

You bastard, you stole 14 seconds from me! I want them back, do you hear?!

Either is correct because the sentence can be read with either number or seconds as the subject:

There are (a finite number of) seconds…

There is a finite number [measuring the] seconds

At some low point in my life I binge-watched the entirety of "How I Met Your Mother"... Trust me, you cannot hurt me the way I've hurt myself. 😔🤣

Waste of time, implies time has a dollar value, and that friendly tactic was brought to you by capitalism. Therefore I propose, Waisting your time is anarchy. Imma just stare at the wall, nobody can stop me.

Always has been.

Conversely, you can do some pretty cool stuff with the (arguable not that important) life you've been given, and you can enjoy wherever you're at.

But nothing anybody ever does will matter that much on a cosmic scale. So no stress.

Yeah I think the fact that nothing matters makes your subjectivity what actually matters. So you get to decide what is a "waste of time" and what isn't.
