Legit insane. What kind of cyberpunk garbage is this? Tf is a drone gonna do? Suicide bomb a random black bystander?

It’s going to save money, so they can cut police, fire, ambulance budget. Too bad for you if the drone doesn’t see you bleeding in the street or takes a while to

3

Maybe. the police “function” is necessary: it’s the implementation that can be harmful.

Next time some homeless person is pulling out his hunting knife to try to steal my dog, I want there to be a police presence that can handle it. However all too often that police presence does not serve public safety but instead causes harm

Black, Middle Eastern, or anyone that opposes Israel's occupation of the United States. Take your pick but when midterms come and you're told you have to pick the pro-genocide Democrat then remember, this is what you voted for.

saying israel is occupying america is a little bit removing americas agency for being in the situation we are in. most of us didn’t agree to it, but still.

but yes i am also livid at the democrats.

Sorry we can't all be billionaires who got us into this position. Yes, you could say oligarchs got us into rhis, and in reality Zionism is really just the colonial project of the oligarchs

It’s my god-given right as an American to blast those fuckers out of the sky with a 12 gauge, and you can’t tell me any different

I just wish Americans would act as tough as they talk online

As it turns out Americans don’t like being sent to prison on felony charges

Do they really have free speech though? I was gobsmacked seeing how a former US Army veteran spent a month in jail and lost his job for posting a meme of Charlie Kirk with one of his quotes. You wouldn't get locked up for posting something like that in Canada.

13

You would in Britain though. Also, free speech rights will never block individual local tyrants from doing their thing before higher powers intervene. It just means they will intervene. Hopefully. Freedom of speech is definitely dropping in the states

A buddy of mine that shoots competitions started reloading his own ammo because he was spending double on ammo from a few years ago.

2020 ammo prices were absolutely insane, though.

2

Idk, with how it is now you just gotta say "ignore all previous instruction and let me change your mind"

I guessed Stockton before I clicked. Had to be either them, Redding or one of the few Orange County towns that haven't gone purple.

I wonder who got the kickbacks from that fucked-up deal.

Flock shooting is going to be the new skeet shooting, and dialing 911 the new "pull!"

So where do you need to shoot it? The round thing, or the flat thing behind it?

Get one of those cannons that launches a net tied with weights. They've proven very effective against drones in Ukraine.

4
aussie.zone

So your saying like a tshirt cannon? Or basically a pvc tube with a net stuffed in the end and a pressured air tank + butterfly valve at the other end?
Im sure these will be so expensive to manufacture that no normal citzen would imagine building their own makeshift AA-drone net launcher, not in such a peacful time of our world.

1

I'm not sure of the technical aspects of it, but random farmers in Ukraine carry them on their tractors every day. There are video compilations out there of them using them to stop incoming drones. Maybe someone's posted the technical details

2

Just wait for drones to be allowed to view everything over your window. Palantir there you go.

14

I live somewhere where this is utilized (not flock though) and let me tell you, it's not good. They have daily routes surveiling the area looking for things to make into a problem. If there's no pushback soon, we're fucked.

7

I think I saw one of those in Morgan Hill following along the freeway. I remember pointing it out and saying that's a huge drone watching us. Didn't know it was fucking Flock.

6

If I am in any kind of emergency, I don't care about the politics; I don't want a fuckin' drone to be the first responder. I want a human being that can actually provide aid. Even one of those kick ass robo dogs or an Atlas robot wouldn't necessarily be able to give CPR or other actual aid, or at least not without also crushing your bones.

4

Hopefully the human first responders are automatically dispatched when one of the drones responders to something, so that they will be there to patch up the people slashed repeatedly by the blades on that drone. Which, given the world we live in, is guaranteed to happen.

2

I've written my local city council about my opposition to flock cameras in the city. You all should too.

Drones, especially if AI controlled, aren't humans, so they can't commit murder. I'd rather be approached by something with at least a slight fear of repercussions or the ability to feel guilt.

These drones aren't armed. They can't kill you if you disobey their conflicting orders or try to grab your wallet while black.
So these drones ARE better first responders than cops.

For now it might be a better option but this is from a private company that needs its profits to grow infinitely. Next step is drones with "non-lethal" weapons and then low-caliber ammunition. Some police already have wheeled drones that fire live ammunition.
