Yup, another great excuse to deny us right-to-repair, lock down hardware and create more e-waste. There must be better ways to prevent the snatching in the first place.

Its super easy to do this and still preserve repairability. Just make the lock opt in and configured by the user with a password. But realistically they won't do that and just disable resetting without some sort of online connection to the company.
