Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.

If the masses recognize the ceremony, then it's fair play.

Also we may all agree that a government hold by a random 6yo boy would still do a better job than Reform UK.

You cannot expect to wield supreme executive power just because a watery twat threw a sword at you!

I guarantee they were just messing about slashing trees with it before a teacher confiscated it.

That is what is so cool about the old world. You can find all sorts of stuff, you might find a bunch of gold or old swords.

Well that is a very valid point to keep in mind, much of the old world is littered with explosives, all sorts of poor Farmers or whoever else decides to start digging hits an old bomb or mine, cluster bombs are horrible for this, and kills himself decades after any sort of conflict ended. Ukraine is going to be really bad. Laos of course is the ground Central for a lot of this stuff.
