Today is May Day, for those in the US.

... It is May Day in many countries outside of the US you know

Edit:

expecting crickets or apologies

And what are _you_doing today? Me? I'm reading about workers right movements history in my country (France). Not a bad pick if I dare say so myself. I'm also editing my comment to your post wondering if it's worth it... but that's just me being pessimistic.

I think they were implying that only Americans needed the reminder because anyone else was already aware.

Your edit makes it sound like you think OP is accusing us of not doing anything.

I'm only reacting (which is what commenting is about) to

expecting crickets or apologies

I will let anyone decide for themselves how to read that, including the OP.

Fair enough, that does sound pretty douchey. 👍

But on the other hand, you did specify the US, where it's pretty important to take action right now.

Sooo, I retract everything. 😂

Regrettably, I work for a non-profit devoted to low-cost healthcare and providing as many services as we can. Just working here, every day, is quite stressful given the constraints. And I don't think picketing would be a good idea.

I work for a non-profit that is dedicated to caring for our community and treats it's employees well, so it would seem terribly wrong to me to do anything nasty to them.

However, I did take the day off.
