There are definitely gas stations out there selling rotisserie chickens. I've never seen it. Never specifically heard of that being a thing. But there's no way there aren't any gas stations out there somewhere that are.
That has more to do with food production laws than anything. Japan gets fresh food delivered every morning to their convenience stores, and people legitimately go for the food because it's quick, cheap, and great quality. That's because of the laws, not the business choices.
Nothing prevents US businesses from doing the same. Just greed (in the interest of squeezing every penny of shareholder value) by instead stocking as little as possible that can go bad quickly. Which means minimal fresh foods. So shareholders get a couple extra pennies in exchange for the entire business being seen as a piece of shit with crappy products.
Other businesses do just fine with fresh food, look at something like QT for a direct example. They even have made to order products, not just product delivered daily.
There’s a gas station near me that has the best Thai food in town and there’s another gas station that has a great sangwich place. So not quite rotisserie chickens but definitely solid food at some of em.
I’ve had AMAZING fried chicken from Royal Farms. I’ve also had mediocre fried chicken from them. The lack of consistency has scared me off from going regularly, but I am really curious…
Sometimes while reheating questionable leftovers or ignoring an (in my opinion) overly-pessimistic expiration date, I imagine the video intro and "presenting" finger. Doesn't stop me as long as the time frame is still reasonable, sniff test is passed, and visual inspection is fine but I do take a moment and reconsider my life choices.
The big trends for ‘25-‘50 are electrification and veganism. As part of the (feeble) countermovement, rotary chicken may well happen sooner than anyone would expect.

kwik trip (upper-midwest us) has both roasted and fried chicken. neither is cheap, but they got it.

I think there is a trust factor with gas stations and fresh foods. That being said, I've seen plenty with Fried Chicken.
If only whoever runs 7-11 internationally would take over the US stuff to bring that state side.

It happens the other way around. Some places that sell rotisserie chickens have decided to sell gas.

Near Baltimore Maryland there is a “gas station” chain called Royal Farms, that place is a fried chicken and small grocery store that also sells gas.
Not sure id they have rotisserie chicken though. I do have to admit their fried chicken is good..

Gas stations are irrelevant for EVs. And yes, the number of vegans keeps on increasing. It has to, because of climate collapse.
