I did not expect some of them to be racists, but

This was posted in ![email protected], on an article about South Korea and Israel. I don't want to go back to the thread and look at the mess again..

Anyway, they said:

In that they insist they're the rightful rulers of a land they invaded and only gained international legitimacy after being backed by nuclear superpowers, much to the suffering of the actual native populations; while everyone ignores their fascist history and present and pretends they're a beacon of democracy in an otherwise savage land full of subhuman monkeys barely fit to be called slaves.

Besides the fact that the the divide is typical ideological division, not "invasion" of sort, I find the following part more egregious.

otherwise savage land full of subhuman monkeys

Isn't this just plain racism against us South Koreans? Where did they learn to dehumanize civilians like that?

Meh, it's my bad thinking there would not be racists in Lemmy.

It's hard without the full conversation at hand, but I'm fairly certain the "slaves" are the middle eastern countries surrounding Israel. The comment is heavily sarcastic. It implies that is how western society sees it and is criticising that fact.
