Is it predatory if (hypothetically) a 35 year old woman is dating a 25 year old guy because she was in a coma for 10 years so she's mentally about 25, and she hangs around with people in their 20s?

Context for the q: was browsing tiktok and saw a video while scrolling. it was about a 35 year old woman with a 25 year old boyfriend. Everyone in the comments said it's wrong and predatory, how 25 is basically a kid and 35 is middle aged, etc

Is it predatory if an adult of consenting age dates another adult of consenting age, there is no information about one causing damage to the other, it's just that people don't like it?

No it's not predatory have a nice day

Context matters.

25, they’re either still in college or just getting into building their career.

35, there established and stable

Could it be predatory? Absolutely. Particularly if the 35yo is the one paying bills and the 25yo is financially dependent.

That said, no one who is in a coma for 10 years is going to be waking up the same as they were when they went into the coma. They’re going to be different persons, and they’re going to be having ridiculous amounts of medical bills. Suffice it to say that the coma-person might be the victim here, too.

But that imbalance has nothing to do with age a 25 years old person could have a lot more money than a 35 years old person and make the older person dependend on the younger person

except- as I've already noted- that a 35 yo person is more likely to have an established career and financial stability in a way I wouldn't expect a 25 year old.

again, context matters, but whether you want to admit it or not, the age gap is straddling major life milestones.

Some people are married with children and in stable careers by 25

Some people are still single and looking for a job at 35

Why would it be abusive in the first place if a 25 year old dates a 35 year old? What is happening with people that now all of the sudden any age gap is treated like this bad bad thing?

If both parties are adults, and both consent, then idgaf if one is 18 and the other 81. Adult is adult, consent is consent, can we fucking please stop judging people for living their lives the way they want to?

You were watching ragebait. Almost no one cares about age gaps in the real world - and if they do care, they only talk about it in whispers, because they know they are being judgemental assholes.

Are both people legal adults of sound mind who are willingly engaged in the relationship? Yes? Then its not creepy.

People in those comments need to get a life. I can only assume that they were still at school if they're considering 35 as middle aged.
